Angela Rose “Angie” Haas Carroll was born on August 22, 1936, to Albert and Mary Haas of Lime City, Ohio, the sixth of 13 children. She graduated Our Lady of Cincinnati (Edgecliff) College in 1956, and Mary Manse College in Toledo, and joined the Sisters of Mercy as a teacher. She left the Convent in 1969 and continued to teach in northern Ohio until she left for California in 1976. She continued substitute teaching until she became an insurance agent. She worked for Farmers Insurance Company, where she met her husband, Roy Carroll. Angela and Roy were married on November 20, 1982. They continued to live in Paradise, California until returning to Perrysburg in the late 1980s. Angela and Roy lived at the family farm in Perrysburg until Roy’s death in April 2011. Angela moved back to Auburn, California, where she lived until her death on January 31, 2018. She leaves behind two brothers (Casey and Sam), five sisters (Charlotte, Suzanne, Judith, Bernadette and MaryJo), and 29 nieces and nephews. Angela’s hobbies included sewing cloth yo-yos, and caring for her Dachshund dogs. She is buried with her husband Roy Carroll at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Hayward, California.
