Vera M. Heffran, 86, of Maumee, passed away February 14, 2018, at St. Luke’s Hospital. Vera was born May 10, 1931, in Allegheny Harrison, Pennsylvania, to William R. and Vera A. (Heidinger) Ramaley. She married Vern Heffran on March 16, 1951, in Tarentum, Pennsylvania, and he preceded her in death on April 21, 2006. Vera was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church in Perrysburg. She enjoyed gardening, needle point, crocheting and knitting. She also enjoyed football and golf. Her greatest passion were her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren, whom she loved spending time with. She is survived by her daughters, Cheryl A. (George) Horsman and Cynthia L. Heffran; grandchildren, Zachariah Heffran, Shannon Heffran, Jason (Devon) Horsman and Emily (David) Routh; greatgrandchildren, Seth and Cole Heffran, Evelyn and Darby Routh, Gabriel, Ezra and Violet Horsman. Along with her husband Vern, she was preceded in death by her son, Richard “Rick” Heffran and siblings, Margaret Toy, John, James, Charles, and Lawrence Ramaley. Friends were received Friday, February 16, at Witzler- Shank Funeral Home, 222 East South Boundary Street, Perrysburg, OH (419-874-3133). Funeral services were held Saturday, February 17, at First United Methodist Church, 200 West Second Street, Perrysburg, OH 43551. Burial will be private at a later date.
