John Fredrick Brossia
John Fredrick Brossia, 71, passed away on December 1, 2017, at the University of Colorado Hospital in Aurora, Colorado, in the arms of his love, Patty Graham. John fought congestive heart failure for many years. John was born January 21, 1946, in Toledo, to his parents, Melvin Henry Brossia and Laura Cornelia (Walston) Brossia. John attended the University of Chicago until he enlisted in the Marines in 1965. He served in Vietnam in Dong Ho and Phu Bai. He married Cheryl Keller in 1967 and later divorced in 1986. John worked at Eaton Corporation in Cleveland, Ohio, as a credit manager until the family relocated to Denver, Colorado, where he worked for Moore Bearing Company. John later moved to Rockport, Massachusetts, where he enjoyed a less stressful lifestyle working as a carpenter and handyman. John loved a good game of cards, and his humor was enjoyed by many. John is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Kiffin Hope of Austin, Texas; two granddaughters; his son, and his significant other, Patty Graham of Loveland, Colorado, as well as many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; his twin brother, James Brossia, and his sister Anita Voska. Because of John’s support of higher education and his appreciation for the care he received from the University Health Care system, he requested his body to be used to further educate health care students. Cremation will take place, and a memorial service in Perrysburg, will be held at a future date.
