RBA meeting explains health insurance changes
At its November 29 luncheon meeting, the Rossford Business Association learned about updates and changes to the Affordable Care Act and its impact on local businesses.
The guest speaker was Pat Paule of Savage and Associates, who described the individual market for purchasing health insurance as “an absolute mess.”
He noted that the ACA was designed to provide access to “underserved” people, but many options for purchasing health insurance have decreased. For instance, in 2014, there were 12 companies in the Lucas County marketplace and now there are five. In Ottawa County, there are only two companies.
