She was a member of the United States Telephone Association, served on the NTCA, the Lima YWCA boards. She was a member of the Allen County Friends of the Library, delivered meals for Meals on Wheels, was a volunteer at Lima Memorial Hospital, an activity she loved doing right up to the time of her diagnosis. Ruby loved her cats Tux and Oreo, who have both gone on to good homes to continue to get the love and care she would want for them. She also loved to read and travel. Her travels took her all over the world starting with the “Follow the Reds” trips to San Francisco, LA, Boston, Montreal and then expanding to Hong Kong, Hawaii, Colorado, Europe, Scandinavia, Austria and even back to the Great Wall of China at the age of 86. Services were held Saturday November 18, at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove, with Pastor Grace Brooks officiating. Burial followed at Vaughnsville Cemetery.
