Perrysburg Fire Chief Jeff Klein retires after 26 years of service with the city–Thank You
When Perrysburg Fire Chief Jeff Klein was in elementary school–fourth grade–a firefighter visited his class.
Years later, Chief Klein was at an event and there was a gentleman sitting close by who looked familiar. He asked the man his name and as he said his first name, Chief Klein immediately said his last name.
“He looked at me and asked how I knew his name. You were Fireman Bob,” the chief said recalling the conversation. “‘How do you know that?’ the man replied. Don’t you remember me? I carried your boots when I was in the fourth grade.
“A fireman at the time picked me to help carry his gear to the car. And that is where it kind of hit me–I wanted to be a fireman.” And that was the beginning of a dream to become a firefighter.
