School board receives update on changes for school nurse requirements in 2019-20
A new licensing requirement for school nurses will impact school districts across the state beginning with the 2019-20 school year.
Springfield Local Schools is among those impacted by the change, explained Treasurer Ryan Lockwood at the board of education’s February 27 meeting.
“The law has changed as it equates to school nurses,” he said.
The Ohio Department of Education issues a license for school nurses. School districts are to hire RNs with the school nurse license to work within the district.
