Metroparks conducts prescribed burns at Wildwood and Oak Openings parks

A mild, sunny and nearly wind free spring day provided Metroparks Toledo with the perfect opportunity to conduct prescribed burns at Wildwood Preserve and Oak Openings parks.

Postponed from an earlier date due to high winds, the burns went off without a hitch on April 24.

Wildwood was bustling with park goers, a number of whom sat in lawn chairs or stood nearby with cameras to watch as crews lit patches of acreage previously cordoned off by park staff.
