KENNETH CLUCKEY

Kenneth James Cluckey, 68, of Oregon, Ohio, died Saturday, July 17, 2010, at St. Charles Mercy Hospital. He was born on March 24, 1942, in Toledo, to Dorn and Gladys (Beale) Cluckey. He graduated from Clay High School in 1960, and then served in the U.S. Army from 1960 to 1966. After being honorably discharged, he worked for the Chrysler Corporation for 32 years, retiring in 1994 as a fork lift operator. During his time at Chrysler, he was a shop steward and a union steward. For more than 25 years, Mr. Cluckey held various elected positions at Jeep Country FCU, including president, vice president, and loan officer. He enjoyed sports; he played semi-pro football with the Toledo Tornadoes from 1961-62. He was an umpire for the Federation League, coached the Jeep women’s softball team and was a Local 12 commissioner for the men’s softball league. His hobbies included Tony Stewart Racing, the New York Yankees, old car shows, traveling and cooking. He was a member of the Rossford Eagles #2322, American Legion #0888, and the First Baptist Church of Greater Toledo. He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Linda (Shepherd) Cluckey; children, Keith (Andrea) Cluckey, Kim Mansour and Kris Kastle; siblings, Al (Donna) Cluckey, Glenn Cluckey, Doris Hartford, Roger Cluckey, Norma Cluckey, Mike (Pat) Cluckey, Debora Melvin, and Carl (Maria) Cluckey; grandchildren, Josef, Amber (Seth), Sami, Daynah, Jami and Jasmyn; great-grandchildren, Khalid and Domotov. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Sandra (Materni) Cluckey, and brothers, Jerry and Dwayne Cluckey. Family and friends may visit today, July 22, from 2 to 8 p.m., at the Sujkowski Funeral Home of Rossford, 830 Lime City Road. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 23, at 11 a.m., in the funeral home, with the Rev. Dan Ballavia officiating. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Perrysburg. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.




MARVIN “TEX” WARTON

Marvin A. “Tex” Warton, 92, of Perrysburg, died Thursday, July 15, 2010, at the Avalon by Otterbein. He was born April 23, 1918, in Vernon, Texas, to Fred and Ellie (Weathers) Warton. He was a U.S. Army veteran who served his country during World War II. He retired from the Libbey-Owens-Ford Glass Co., where he had worked as a boiler operator. Mr. Wharton was a member of the Holy Cross Council #5139 Knights of Columbus, the Rossford VFW Post and the Maumee Masonic Lodge. He also was a lifetime and original member of the Tangle Wood Golf Course. Mr. Warton is survived by his sons, Marvin “Sonny” (Gail) and John (Pam) Warton; daughter, Marie Pheils; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren, and sisters, Freda Baldwin and Ruth Allen. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose, and his brothers, Bill, JW, Robert and David Warton A recitation of the Rosary was held Sunday, July 18, at the Sujkowski Funeral Home of Rossford, by members of the Holy Cross Council #5139 Knights of Columbus. Prayer Services began Monday, July 19, in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Rose Catholic Church in Perrysburg. Burial was in St. Rose Cemetery.




DOLORES FRAUTSCHI

Dolores A. Frautschi, 79, of Rossford, died Friday, July 2, 2010, at her home. She was born on July 26, 1930, in Toledo, to Lester and Mary Bihl. She married Arnold Frautschi on October 5, 1950. She worked as a bookkeeper for 10 years before retiring to spend time with her family. She enjoyed playing cards, gardening, needlepoint, and playing video games with her grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Carol (Joe) Sharp and Nanette (Carlos) Saucedo; grandchildren, Melissa and Joshua Sharp. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold in February 2005; brother, Jerry, and sister, Blandina. In keeping with her wishes, services and interment will be private. Arrangements are being made by the Sujkowski Funeral Home of Rossford. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.

MARY JANE SCHWERTFEGER
Mary Jane Schwertfeger died on July 2, 2010, at Kingston Residence of Sylvania. She was just weeks shy of her 90th birthday. She was a faculty member and professor at the University of Michigan, where she is recognized for her work as professor emeritus of education. Her path began in her hometown of Norfolk, Nebraska, where she was raised on her grandparents’ farm near Pierce, Nebraska, along with her older brother, “Bob.” She earned a bachelor of arts degree in education from Iowa State College in 1949, and worked as a preschool teacher at Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri. She went on to earn her master of arts degree in 1951, in child development, from the University of Iowa, where she taught at the Child Welfare Research Station. In an effort to be closer to her brother in Ohio, she moved to Chicago and worked at a local nursery school. She served from 1954-1956 as a teacher at the University of Michigan’s Neuropsychiatric Institute, subsequently earning herself a position at University of Michigan’s School of Education. She received a Ph.D. in 1961, and was promoted from assistant professor, to associate professor, to professor in 1970. She retired in 1988 after 31 years of dedicated leadership and service to UM and this year (2010) is being recognized for her 50th anniversary as a UM Rackham graduate. During her tenure at UM, Professor Schwertfeger was predominantly responsible for the growth and development of the early childhood education department. She was known among students and colleagues for her advocacy on behalf of preschool and kindergarten children, specializing in disturbed children. She has scores of publications, several jointly written by her close friends yet today, Anne Hungerman of Ann Arbor, and Patricia O’Connor, of Northport, Michigan. After retirement, she enjoyed spending time with her friends, family, and neighbors in Ann Arbor as well as at her cottage on Lake Michigan’s small town, Northport. She also enjoyed the local parks and beaches, as well as community picnics and events. She is survived by her nephew, Robert (Anne) Schwertfeger of Ottawa Hills, Ohio; nieces, Betsy Davies of Collingwood, Ontario, Sandra Ansted of Perrysburg, and Virginia (Jerry) Steer of Rossford; great-nephews and greatnieces, Craig Jaqua, Melissa Jaqua, Chris Steer, Doreen Schwartz, Michelle Dean, Loraine Bremner, Mannon Schwertfeger, Jeffrey Steer, Jennifer Gogol, Robert Schwertfeger, Todd Ansted, and Ryan Steer and their spouses, children, and extended families. She was preceded in death by her brother, Floyd Schwertfeger; sister-in-law, Betty Jane Schwertfeger; nephew-in-law, Gareth Davies, and niece, Louise (Schwertfeger) Jaqua. A memorial service will be held Friday, July 9, at 10:30 a.m., at the First Presbyterian Church in Ann Arbor, 1432 Washtenaw Avenue. Parking is located on Forest Avenue. Burial will be in Prospect Cemetery in Pierce. Arrangements are being made by the Sujkowski Funeral Home of Rossford. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a consideration of a donation to a children’s charity, a local Humane Society, or Hospice organization.




CHARLES CAMPOS

Charles “Chuck” Campos, 75, of east Toledo died June 27, 2010, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. He was born on September 11, 1934, in San Antonio, Texas, to John and Irene (Martinez) Campos. After being honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy, he was employed with the Kroger Co. as a head meat cutter for 41 years. An avid golfer, he was a club champion at Hidden Hills Golf Course. He was a life member of VFW Post 606 in west Toledo. Mr. Campos is survived by his wife of 20 years, Bonnie (Reed) Campos; son, Charles Campos; daughters, Pat (Steve) Snow, Denise Rothwell, Nancy (Robert) Villagomez, Betty Christianson and Jacqueline Whyte; stepchildren, John (Mary) Stover, Dawn (Ray) Harmon, and Jill (Jim) Deneau; brother, Frank Campos; sisters, Mary Jane Gonzalez, Connie (Rudy) Flores, Delores Lemon and Josephine Campos; 20 grandchildren; 11 greatgrandchildren; special aunt, Josephine Campos; many nieces and nephews, and good friends, Jim Sedlar and Richard Swiatek. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Cathy Sedlar; brother, John Campos Jr.; son-in-law, Artie Christianson, and nephew, John Flores. Friends may visit at the Sujkowski Funeral Home of Rossford, 830 Lime City Road, today, July 1, from 2 to 8 p.m., where recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 2, beginning at 9 a.m., in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m., at Immaculate Conception Church, 434 Western Avenue, Toledo. Interment will follow at Lake Township Cemetery in Millbury.

DARREL CORNWELL
Darrel R. Cornwell, 74, of Rossford, died June 28, 2010, at Foundation Park. He was born on July 12, 1935, in Toledo, to Arthur and Hazel (Dauhke) Cornwell. He was a graduate of Waite High School and was employed with Libbey Glass for more than 42 years. He enjoyed sports and was an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians, Cleveland Browns and the Ohio State Buckeyes. He also enjoyed hooking rugs, playing cards, traveling, and spending time with family. Mr. Cornwell is survived by his wife of more than 52 years, Margaret “Sis” Cornwell; son, Ronald (Susan) Cornwell; daughters, Debra (Jeff) Lobzun, Karen (Deborah) Cornwell; brother, Clyde; sister, Evelyn Horgan; grandchildren, Lindsay Sliwinski, Amy, Bridget, Steven, Robert, Shelby, Dante Cornwell and Daniel Wright. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Edward, Leonard and Raymond Cornwell; sister, Emma Rarick, and infant son, Robert. Funeral services will be held today, July 1, at 10 a.m., in the Sujkowski Funeral Home of Rossford, 830 Lime City Road, with the Rev. Terry Powell officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Meigs Cemetery in Perrysburg. A luncheon will be held in the All Saints Church Steinbauer Room following burial.


IRENE KUJAWA
Irene C. Kujawa, 90, of Perrysburg, died Friday, June 25, 2010, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Maumee. She was born on April 9, 1920, in Toledo, to Leon and Josephine (Janiszewski) Burzynski. She was employed for many years with Craftmaster, retiring in 1984. She was a member of St. Rose Church in Perrysburg. She enjoyed long walks through the streets of Perrysburg and spending time with her family. Ms. Kujawa is survived by her children, Donna (Ron) Schmidt of Monclova Township; son, Dennis (Shirley) Kujawa of Rossford; grandchildren, Lisa (Ken) McIntyre, Jeff (Holly) Orlowski, Andrew Kujawa, Steven (Beth) Kujawa, and Gregory Kujawa; sister, Doloras Weinrich, and great-grandchildren, Hannah, Kennen and Annalise McIntyre and Ethan Kujawa. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Kujawa, in 1992, and brothers, Leonard, Edward and David Burzynski. A recitation of the Rosary was held Monday, June 28, at the Sujkowski Funeral Home of Rossford. Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 29, at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Rose Church in Perrysburg. Interment was in Resurrection Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.

BARBARA McDADE

Barbara Ann Dobron McDade, 63, of Rossford, died Tuesday, June 29, 2010, at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center. She was born on February 6, 1947, in Toledo, to John and Josephine (Gorka) Dobron. She was a 1965 graduate of Cardinal Stritch High School and graduated cum laude from Case Western Reserve in 1969 with a bachelor of arts degree in English. She was employed as a teacher and over the years taught at both the elementary and high school levels. She was accomplished in art and enjoyed literature. Ms. McDade is survived by her son, Alex McDade IV; grandchildren, Bethany Plank McDade and Brendan Moon McDade; sister, Josephine Dobron; special cousin, Sophie Witham, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents. In accordance with her wishes, there will be no visitation and services will be private. Arrangements are being made by the Sujkowski Funeral Home of Rossford. Memorial contributions may be made to All Saints Catholic Church.


JOHN BEROTH
John Henderson Beroth, 83, of Perrysburg, died Friday, June 18, 2010. He was born on July 10, 1926, in Toledo, to Schuyler and Lulu (Schumaker) Beroth. He was a graduate of De- Vilbiss High School and was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during World War II. After the war, Mr. Beroth worked for Toledo Edison as an accountant for 38 years, retiring in 1987. He married Helen Downer on June 23, 1951. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Toledo and the Lutheran Men’s Bowling League for more than 25 years. Mr. Beroth is survived by his wife of 58 years, Helen; daughter, Jan Ulinski, and granddaughter, Katlyn Ulinski. He was preceded in death by his son, Paul Beroth; sisters, Marjorie Plummer and Helen Beroth, and son in-law, Kenneth Ulinski. In accordance with Mr. Beroth’s wishes, there will be no visitation and services will be private. Arrangements were made by the Sujkowski Funeral Home of Rossford.

JOANNE COOK

Joanne Marie Cook, 63, of east Toledo, died Friday, June 18, 2010, at the Cleveland Clinic. She was born in Toledo, on August 28, 1947, to Stanley and Evelyn (Szymarik) Delikate. She was a cook for many years at West Toledo Health Care and Arbors of Oregon. She enjoyed baking and was an accomplished cake decorator. She enjoyed traveling and taking trips to Las Vegas. She is survived by her son, David Cook, and her sister, Kathy Middlebrooks. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dwight Cook, in 2002, and her parents. Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 23, in the Sujkowski Funeral Home of Rossford. Interment was private.


JANICE KOPERSKI
Janice Lee Koperski, 79, of Rossford, died Monday, June 14, 2010, at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was born on December 12, 1930, in Toledo, to Charles and Ruth (Schneider) Humphrys. In her early years, she had worked for the Rossford Ordnance. She is survived by her daughter, Danielle Petty of Cleburne, Texas; son, Charles Koperski of Cleburne; grandchildren, William Koperski of Martin, Ohio, Chad Diehl, Shannon Dildy, Sean Petty, Ryan Petty and Michaela Petty, all of Texas. A private graveside service was held Wednesday, June 16, at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. A memorial service will be held in Texas at a later date. DENNIS MARSH
Dennis M. Marsh, 62, of Oregon, Ohio, died June 22, 2010, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. He was born on December 11, 1947, in Toledo, to John and Florence (Heltman) Marsh. He was a graduate of Central Catholic High School and the University of Toledo. He was a fork lift operator for many years and had worked for Rieter Automotive. Mr. Marsh is survived by his daughters, Kristen (Scott Laney) Fugate and Kendra (Michael) Sheidler; grandchildren, James Fugate III, Alyssa Fugate and AJ Sheidler; three aunts; several cousins; best friend, Bob Davis, and longtime friend and exwife, Victoria Fugate. MARY SOVIAR
Mary A. Soviar, 82, of Rossford, died Sunday, June 20, 2010, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. She was born on December 18, 1927, in Rossford, to Anthony and Johanna (Chabron) Soviar. She was employed with Libbey Glass for 40 years. She was a member of All Saints Catholic Church and enjoyed volunteering at the Senior Center in Rossford. She enjoyed spending her time with family and friends and playing bingo. She is survived by her brother, Edward (Dolores) Soviar; sisters, Amelia Studenka and Helen (Eugene) Borkowski, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Johanna Kocica. Family and friends may visit in the narthex at All Saints Catholic Church today, June 24, beginning at 9:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in the church at 11 a.m. with the Rev. ANTONIO YAP, M.D.

Antonio C. Yap, M.D., 77, of Perrysburg, died Sunday, June 20, 2010, in his home. For more than 35 years, Dr. Yap cared for the families of the greater Toledo- area as a pediatrician. He was an active advocate for health care reform. Along with a private practice that he started in 1972, Dr. Yap served as former chief of pediatrics for Flower and Mercy Hospitals. He also served on the medical staff of St. Luke’s, St. Charles, St. Vincent, Toledo Children’s and Toledo Hospital. He has been recognized for his 20 years of service to Mercy Hospital and 25 years of service to St. Luke’s Hospital and 30 years of service to Flower Hospital. Dr. Yap was born on June 13, 1933, to Martina and Crescencio Yap in Romblon, Philippines. At the age of six, he was left an orphan along with his 12 brothers and sisters with the early passing of his parents. He was raised by his eldest sister, Felicitas Chua, and brother-in-law, Mateo, who encouraged him to be a physician. In 1962, he graduated from Manila Central University with his doctor of medicine degree. In 1963, he arrived in the United States to complete his residency in pediatrics at Children’s Hospital of Michigan. He began his private practice in 1972, and has since then cared for more than 20,000 infants, children and adolescents. Dr. Yap was a founding member of Special Commission on Relief and Education (SCORE), a philanthropic group focused on providing medical, surgical care and education to the medically underserved areas of the Philippines. He also has served in many leadership positions in the Toledo community on numerous boards and medical organizations. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Nilza; children, Antoinette (Mark) Wilson, Yvonne (Allan) Donaldson, Gil and Eric Yap; grandsons, Alec, Carter and Hunter; siblings, Felicitas, Louisa and Dominidor, and many nieces and nephews. A Funeral Mass will be held Friday, June 25, at 11 a.m., at St. Rose Church, 215 East Front Street, Perrysburg. There will be a reception at the Yap residence following the service. JANICE BADEN

Janice Louise (Emmick) Baden, 64, of Rossford, died Monday, June 14, 2010, in her home. She received her registered nursing degree from Mercy School of Nursing in 1966. In 1987, she received the Nursing Excellence Award for Community Services at Mercy Hospital. In 1990, she graduated summa cum laude from the University of Toledo, with a master’s degree in education. She was a licensed professional counselor, licensed social worker, a certified trauma and loss counselor and a school specialist. She had more than 20 years of experience as a grief counselor. She was the director of bereavement services for Hospice of Monroe, Michigan, for 10 years. During that time she developed many grief support groups and provided bereavement counseling for the Monroe community. In 2001, she cofounded the family grief center, Gabby’s Ladder, Inc., in memory of her son Joey, and served as its director as well and a grief counselor. Through her guidance, Gabby’s Ladder has provided grief support and education to more than 10,000 people since its doors opened. She was a leader in the Monroe community in creating the Suicide Prevention Manual of Monroe County, Michigan. She published a journal workbook for grieving teens, “Risen Heart the Light Within” in 2005. She was involved in presenting workshops about grieving children and adults in the schools, churches and community organizations throughout Michigan and Ohio. She was very involved in the Catholic Diocese, beginning with the Parish Nurse Ministries in Fremont, Ohio, and then locally in the All Saints Parish Community. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed her roses. She also enjoyed traveling up north, jet skiing with her husband and their rides to Port Clinton, Ohio. She also enjoyed shopping with her sisters. In 1989, she decided to learn how to play the piano and began lessons. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Richard Baden; son, Daniel (Cathleen) Baden; grandsons, John (Voyles) and Ezra Joseph; sisters, Joyce Rober and Linda Carr; 10 nephews and one niece. She was preceded in death by her son, Joseph. Family and friends may visit today, June 17, from 2 to 8 p.m., at the Sujkowski Funeral Home of Rossford, 830 Lime City Road, where recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue on Friday, June 18, beginning at 9:30 a.m., at All Saints Catholic Church. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., with the Rev. Kent Kaufman officiating. Interment will be private. The family suggests those wishing to make a contribution in memory of Mrs. Baden to consider Gabby’s Ladder in Monroe.

ROSIE SABO
Rosie “Aunt Rosie” Sabo, 95, formerly of Genoa, Ohio, died Saturday, June 12, 2010, at Avalon Residential Home of Otterbein in Perrysburg. She was born April 1, 1915, in Toledo, to Louis and Elizabeth Sabo. She worked at Libbey-Owens- Ford, the East Toledo plant. She was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ in Genoa. Ms. Sabo was an avid gardener, cherished her Hungarian heritage with ethnic cooking and enjoyed her pets. She is survived by many nieces and nephews, including Norma Wilka, Harold Bailey; great nieces and nephews, Susan (Ron) Kiefer, Mark (Janet) Bailey, Julie Parkinson, John (Carol) Bailey and Michael Wilka. She was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters. A Memorial Service was held Wednesday, June 16, at the Freck Funeral Chapel, Oregon, Ohio. Burial was in Willow Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.




THOMAS ROSSLER

Thomas “Tom” Rossler, 72, of Ten Sleep, Wyoming, died Thursday, April 15, 2010, at the Washakie Medical Center in Worland, Wyoming. He was born March 20, 1938, in Toledo, to Joseph and Ruth (Blatter) Rossler. He attended schools in Rossford, and graduated from Rossford High School in 1956. He earned a bachelor of science degree from the University of Toledo and master’s of educational administration degree from Central Michigan University in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. He married Elouise Germann on July 25, 1970, in Delta, Ohio, and they had two sons. He worked in the law enforcement field as a part-time officer before beginning his career in education. He held a long-time interest in law enforcement and encouraged his sons in that direction. Mr. Rossler was a math and business teacher who began his career as a permanent substitute in Detroit, Michigan. For a number of years, he taught in Ida in Lower Michigan and Delta in northern Ohio. Mr. and Mrs. Rossler moved to northern Michigan, where he became a federal project administrator for a Federal Follow Through Program in Lincoln, Michigan. He then became the elementary principal of five schools in the same district. In the thumb area of Michigan, Mr. Rossler became superintendent of schools in the Akron-Fairgrove district. He held superintendencies in East Jordan and North Dickinson-Upper Peninsula schools. He retired from Michigan to work as a superintendent in Crivitz, Wisconsin. Upon retirement, Mr. and Mrs. Rossler moved to Ten Sleep, where they soon became the volunteer managers of the United Methodist Circle J Ranch and Retreat Center located in Ten Sleep Canyon, where Mr. Rossler combined his care for children and his Christian faith to benefit youth at the camp. He was an active father who fished, hunted, boated and camped with his family. He enjoyed traveling the West with his family. He enjoyed family church activities throughout his life, most recently in Ten Sleep and at Circle J Ranch Camp. He enjoyed the camaraderie of the men’s breakfast group in Ten Sleep. Mr. Rossler is survived by his wife of almost 40 years, Elouise; sons, Alan (Anna) Rossler of Thermopolis and Ryan (Kami) Rossler of White Bear Lake, Minnesota; granddaughter, Jessa Mae; brother, Tim (Peggy) of White Cloud and his sons, Eric (Jill), and Michael; his mother-in-law, May Germann; brothers-in-law, Arnold and Ronald (Petria) Germann; sister-in-law, Donna (Tom) Germann Edwards; cousins, Dennis Smith and Jim (Lil) Rossler and many other nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 20, at the Ten Sleep United Methodist Church with Rev. Huston Green officiating. Interment was in the Ten Sleep Cemetery. Daniel L. Rush, 37, of Tracy, California, died unexpectedly in his home on Wednesday, June 2, 2010. He was born on February 19, 1973, to Sharon Rush and Donald Lacumsky. He was formerly of Rossford, and was the salutatorian of the Rossford High School Class of 1991. He was a 1991 National Merit Scholar, and graduated magna cum laude from Bowling Green State University, earning his bachelor of business administration degree in 1995. At the time of his death, Mr. Rush worked for LPS Applied Analytics as the accounting and administration manager. While still in high school he was a radio DJ for WRQN, where he was known as “Dan the Man.” He enjoyed reading and writing. He is survived by his father, Donald Lacumsky; sisters, Serenity (Josh) Schultt and Evonne Lacumsky; nephew, Tyler Schultt; niece, Paige Schultt, and grandmother; Alberta Rush. He was preceded in death by his mother, Sharon Rush Baker and grandfather, Robert Rush. Funeral services were held Thursday, June 10, at the Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, Walbridge. Burial was private. GLENN IGO
Glenn Igo, 74, of Monclova, Ohio, died Tuesday, May 25, 2010, at his residence. He was born on July 9, 1935, in Covington, Kentucky, to Luther and Julia (Hamilton) Igo. He was a 1953 graduate of Newport High School. He was employed with Conrail as a supervisor for many years. Mr. Igo was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary (Marcelli) Igo; sons, David Igo, Doug (Teresa) Igo and Daryl (Holly) Igo; grandchildren, Jason (Amanda) Igo, Brandon Igo, Amanda Igo, Ashley Igo, Brittany Igo, Cody Igo, Jonathan Flores and Timothy Igo; great-grandchildren, Brooklyn and Madilyn Igo. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Dylan Igo. A memorial service was held Saturday, May 29, at the W.K. Sujkowski Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jerry Craig officiating. ROBERT BOWER

Robert M. Bower, 79, of Rossford, died Monday, May 17, 2010, at St. Luke’s Hospital. He was born on July 28, 1930 to Clair and Fern (Snyder) Bower in Delta, Ohio. After the death of his parents at the age of 12, he lived in the Ohio Soldiers and Sailors Orphans Home in Xenia, Ohio. At age 20 he joined the Army and was a Pfc. from 1951 until 1953, when he was honorably discharged. After his return from the service, he went to work as a cement mason for Quality Concrete retiring in 1986. Mr. Bower was a member of Local 886. On May 2, 1959, he married Gloria Wisniewski. They were married 51 years. He is survived by his wife, Gloria, and four stepsons, Joseph (Cindy) Tutak, Gary (Pat) Tutak, Don Tutak and Edward “Skip” (Karen) Tutak. Also surviving are eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his brothers, James and Larry. Services will be private. Arrangements are being handled by Sujkowski Funeral Home of Rossford. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to the charity of the donor’s choice.

KATHRYN CHETISTER

Kathryn T. Chetister, 91, of Rossford, died Thursday, May 20, 2010, at her residence. She was born on November 3, 1918, in Rossford, to John and Julia (Toman) Peer. Ms. Chetister was a homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother. She was a longtime active member of All Saints Catholic Church. She enjoyed bowling, playing bunko, traveling and spending time with her family. She is survived by her son, Alan Chetister of Jonesboro, Arkansas; daughter, Constance (Lee) Stokes; sister, Agnes Floro. Also surviving are six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale Chetister; daughter, Christine Synowski; son, Sonny Chetister; daughter in-law, Donna Chetister; siblings, Mary Przybylski, Marge, Joseph, Thomas, Steve, Mike and Richard Peer. There will be no visitation. Services and interment, at Toledo Memorial Park, will be private. Arrangements are being handled by the Sujkowski Funeral Home of Rossford. CECELIA GWOZDZ

Cecelia S. Gwozdz, 89, of Rossford, died Saturday, May 22, 2010, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. She was born on May 11, 1921, in Toledo, to Louis and Josephine (Brila) Katafiasz. She was a homemaker and raised five children, three of whom she adopted. She also opened her home to 13 foster children. Ms. Gwozdz volunteered her time as a tax preparer for AARP and working the voting booths during elections. She was a longtime member of All Saints Catholic Church, where she was a member the Rosary Society, L.C.B.A. and the Ladies Guild. She also was a member of the Rossford Seniors. She enjoyed following sports, especially Notre Dame football and the Toledo Mud Hens. She also enjoyed playing bingo, traveling and spending time with family and friends. Surviving are her sons, Marty Gwozdz, Larry (Laura) Gwozdz and David (Bonnie) Gwozdz; daughters, Janine Gwozdz and Theresa Cook; brother; Raymond (Ginny) Katafiasz; grandchildren, Lindsy, Scott (Kelly), Jessica (Miles), Jennifer (Cristian), Joseph, Michelle, Andrew and Lacy; great-grandchildren, Jeffrey, Noah, Matthew, Garret and Nicholas. Also surviving are many cousins, including her best friend, Sabina Gladieux. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry of 44 years, and brother, Joseph Katafiasz. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held today, Thursday, May 27, at 10 a.m., at All Saints Catholic Church, where the family will greet visitors beginning at 9 a.m., in the church narthex. Interment will follow at Fort Meigs Cemetery in Perrysburg. Arrangements were handled by Sujkowski Funeral Home, Rossford. Kunigunde “Connie” Marchlewski, 92, died Saturday, May 15, 2010. She was born in Germany, on March 30, 1918. She brought her family to America in 1951. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting and cooking. Ms. Marchlewski is survived by her sons, Siegfried (Patricia) Marchlewski of Toledo, Kurt (Eileen) Marchlewski of Cincinnati, and Joseph (friend, Kathy) Marchlewski of Toledo; son-in-law, Craig Vollmar; 12 grandchildren; 25 greatgrandchildren, and 11 greatgreat- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Boleslaw, and daughter, Josephine Vollmar. Funeral services will be held today, May 20, at 10:30 a.m., in the Sujkowski Funeral Home of Rossford, 830 Lime City Road, with the Rev. Kent Kaufman officiating. ELEANOR KONIECZNY

Eleanor Ann Konieczny, 87, of Rossford, died Thursday, May 13, 2010, at the home of her daughter. A lifelong Rossford resident, she was born on January 19, 1923, to Peter and Sadie (Kornasiewicz) Zuchowski. She was a graduate of Rossford High School. She worked at the Rossford Ordnance Depot and retired from Libbey- Owens-Ford Co. She was a member of the LCBA, All Saints Ladies Guild and a 50+ year member of the Salesians. She and her husband, Leonard, enjoyed traveling, dancing, reading, playing rummy and spending time with her family. Ms. Konieczny enjoyed cooking and baking for her family, especially her lemon meringue pies. She is survived by her son, David Konieczny of Rossford; daughter, Debby (Dan) Burns of Perrysburg; grandchildren, Derek (Jenny) Burns of Scottsdale, Arizona, Justin Burns of Lexington, Kentucky, Jackie Burns of Perrysburg; sister-in-law, Dorothy Zuchowski of Perrysburg, and special cousin, Dolores Dominickowski of Rossford. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Leonard, and brother, Leonard Zuchowski. Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 18, in the Sujkowski Funeral Home of Rossford, with the Rev. RUSSELL FRAUTSCHI

Russell Aaron Frautschi, 89, died Friday, May 14, 2010, at Bay Park Hospital. He was born on March 24, 1921, to Walter and Lillian (Robbins) Frautschi, in Perrysburg. He was a 1939 graduate of Rossford High School and received a degree from the University of Toledo. He worked for six months at Willys Overland, before he entered the Army Air Corps on July 29, 1942. In the Corps, he was trained as a radio operator technical sergeant. He was assigned to the Middle Eastern Theater on July 4, 1943, during World War II. On his 14th bombing mission over Breman, Germany, his B-17 was shot down. Injured by flak shrapnel, he bailed out only to be captured by enemy forces. After 20 months as a prisoner of war, he was released on June 3, 1945, as the war concluded. He earned the Purple Heart, Air Medal (with oak leaf cluster, Prisoner of War Medal, European-African- Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, and WWII Victory Medal (with combat V). He was a partner of Frautschi Bros. Hardware in Rossford from 1947 to 1989. He married Betty Jane Leck on July 14, 1947. His memberships included Bethlehem Lutheran Church, lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, 381st Bomb Group, Stalag 17B Association, and Wall of Heroes. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Betty Jane Frautschi; daughters, Sandra (Mike) Fitch, Debra (K. James) Lay, Jr.; son, Jack (Pat) Frautschi; grandchildren, Ashley, Chelsea and Cassandra Fitch, K.J. III, Kaitlyn and Kyle Lay and Whitney and Russell Shane Frautschi. He was preceded in death was his brother, Lewis Frautschi. Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 18, at the Sujkowski Funeral Home of Rossford, with the Rev. Douglas Haryu presiding. Interment was in Fort Meigs Union Cemetery in Perrysburg. Memorial contributions may be made to Bethlehem Lutheran Church.


DEBORAH BRAZELTON
Deborah A. Brazelton, 59, of Rossford, died April 28, 2010, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg. She was born in Ironton, Ohio, on February 19, 1951, to Chester and Virgie (Carroll) Sparks. She married Edward Brazelton in 1973 and had one son, Brian. She had been employed as a senior technician at Mercy St. Charles and Mercy St. Vincent Hospitals for 39 years. Ms. Brazelton is survived by her son, Brian (Ellen) Brazelton; grandsons, Connor and Colin; brothers, Lester, Otis and Earl Sparks; sisters, Allene Joseph, Sue Mesker and Dorothy Trimmier. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Arthur Sparks; sisters, Bethel Havens and Mary Grosjean, and best friend, Brad Miller. Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 4, in the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel. Interment was in Limestone Cemetery. Maria M. Jones, 35, died Sunday, April 25, 2010. She was preceded in death by her father, Derrick Chambers. She graduated from Rossford High in 1993, and worked at the cosmetic counter at Dillard’s for 10 years. She is survived by her children, Karyn and Kyle Jones and Carter Kaslly; boyfriend Marc Kaslly Jr.; mother, Liz Chambers; sisters, Yolanda and Sophia Chambers; goddaughter, Olivia Babka, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. A Mass of the Resurrection was celebrated on Friday, April 28, at Rosary Cathedral Church. Arrangements were made by the Ansberg-West Funeral Home, Toledo. Dorothy J. Kmotorka, 80, of Rossford, died April 30, 2010. She was born on July 29, 1929, in Toledo, to Julia (Henkel) and A.F. Phillips Sr. She lived in Toledo most of her life, except living 10 years in Deerfield Beach, Florida, after retirement. She retired from American Motors Jeep after 30 years. She was a member of Zoar Lutheran Church, Local 12 UAW and Bay View Yacht Club. She held the position of president of the Ladies Auxiliary at Bay View. She also was an auxiliary member of VFW Post #162, Deerfield Beach, and Moose Lodge #2157, Pompano, Florida. She is survived by her daughters, Sandra (Joe) Ball of Rossford and Robin (Sam) Rayner of Bowling Green; grandchildren, Ken Palicki Jr., Kevin (Theresa) Palicki, Jessica (Jeremy) Vedra, Erik (Angela) Fought and Chris Fought; great-grandchildren, Joshua Davis, Gage, Damien, Shea-Lynn Palicki, Carina Fought, Trevor and Vincent Palicki; stepgrandchildren, Erica (Max) Wodzak, Michelle (Bill) Kratt, Joseph (Monica) Ball and Jeffery Ball. She was predeceased by her husband of 45 years, Jerry Kmotorka. She also was preceded in death by her sisters, Betty Ketterman, Margaret Cook, Jackie Ciboro, and brothers, A.F. Edwin Rew Jr., 86, of east Toledo, died Sunday, May 2, 2010, at his home. He was born on June 28, 1923, in Toledo, to Edwin and Jeanette (Price) Rew. Mr. Rew was a U.S. Navy veteran who served during World War II. After the war, he went to work as a millwright for Libbey- Owens-Ford Glass Co., retiring in 1980. He is survived by his sons, Phillip (Mary) Rew and Michael (Marie) Rew; daughter, Jeanette (Steven) Schneider; four grandchildren; five step-grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene, in 1999. Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 5, in the Sujkowski Funeral Home of Rossford, with the Rev. Jerry Craig officiating. Interment was in Restlawn Memorial Park.


ELEANOR VOSKA
Eleanor “Ellen” J. Voska, 89, of Oregon, Ohio, died Sunday, May 2, 2010. She was born on May 18, 2010, in James City, Pennsylvania, to John and Mary (Blahovic) Minarcin. She married Milan Voska Sr. She was a homemaker and had worked at Plexiglass during World War II. She enjoyed playing bingo and was an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians. She was a life member of All Saints Catholic Church and the former Sts. Cyril and Methodius Church. She is survived by her son, Milan (Karen); five grandchildren; six greatgrandchildren, and sister, Mary Knorek. She was preceded in death by her husband, Milan, in 2005. She also was preceded in death by her brothers, John, Anthony, Joseph, Andrew, Steve and Marty Minarcin. In accordance with her wishes, there will be no visitation and services will be private. Charlesetta Ransom Stewart, 87, died April 12, 2010. She had a passion for food and was able as director of dietary training to meet the needs of patients at Toledo Hospital for nearly 30 years. She is survived by her son, Richard (Dawn) Stewart and brother, Melvin Ransom; grandsons, Karl (Curtina), Joel, and greatgrandchildren, Jordyn and Devon Stewart. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Stewart; brother, Willard Ransom, and sister, Charlotte Starnes. ANDREW KUNDRATH
Andrew Joseph “Andy” Kundrath, 62, of Rossford, died Thursday, April 15, 2010, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. He was born in Toledo, on July 31, 1947, to Andrew and Mary (Mikus) Kundrath. He was a 1965 graduate of Cardinal Stritch High School and a graduate of the University of Toledo. A long time banker, Mr. Kundrath logged more than 30 years in the business and was instrumental in establishing and managing offices in Perrysburg, Sylvania, Oregon and Rossford. An automobile enthusiast, he enjoyed his Corvettes. He was well known for detailing vehicles for family and friends. He was actively involved in the Rossford community, including a role as treasurer of the Board of Education, as well as a committed booster for the athletic department. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, being outdoors, doing yard work and playing softball. He is survived by his mother, Mary Kundrath; children, Andrew John “AJ,” Kyle, Joel and Talia; brother, Edward, sisters, Jan (Larry) Weaver and Kathleen (Kenny) Donley. He was preceded in death by his father, Andrew Kundrath, in 2004. Funeral services were held Monday, April 19, in the Sujkowski Funeral Home of Rossford, with the Rev. Joseph Steinbauer officiating. Dolores M. Miles, 86, of Northwood, Ohio, died Tuesday, April 6, 2010, at Flower Hospital. She was born on January 8, 1924, in Toledo, to Thomas and Bertha Liberkowski. She was a graduate of Woodward High School and during World War II she was a machine operator for Bunting Brass and Bronze. She was a parishioner of All Saints Catholic Church in Rossford. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and spending time with her family. She is survived by her daughter, Jackie (Bill) Melnyk of Northwood; son, David (Doris) Miles of Franklin, Wisconsin; six grandchildren; seven greatgrandchildren, and sister, Eleanor (Richard) Olafan of San Diego, California. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Miles, in 2002. A Mass of Christian Burial was held Thursday, April 8, at All Saints Catholic Church in Rossford, with the Rev. LYSLE ‘BUZZ’ MYERS
Lysle R. “Buzz” Myers 83, of Luckey, Ohio, died Saturday, April 10, 2010, at Heatherdowns Care Center. He was born on November 2, 1926, in Luckey, to Victor and Lila “Tut” (Van Camp) Myers. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during World War II. After being honorably discharged, he worked with his father, who owned Vic’s Ideal Inn in Luckey. He then went on to work for the former Libbey-Owens-Ford Glass Co. for 26 years as a pipefitter. He was an instructor in the skilled trades technology program at Owens Community College for more than 22 years. He was a member of the Luckey American Legion Post #240 and the Luckey Volunteer Fire Department. Mr. Myers was survived by his wife of 61 years, Carol (Kehren) Myers; son, Scott Myers; daughter, Patricia “Pat” (Larry) Dean; grandchildren, Renae (Shawn) Hendricks, Melissa Dean, Austin Dean, Caleb and Adam Myers; greatgrandson, Jess Hendricks, and many nieces and nephews. CASIMER PRZYBYLOWSKI

Casimer P. “Cas” Przybylowski, 86, of Rossford, died Tuesday, April 6, 2010, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. He was born January 10, 1924, in Depew, New York, to Kazimer and Mary Anna (Glanz) Przybylowski. He married Helen Nekoranec on May 7, 1949, at Sts. Cyril & Methodius Church in Rossford. He was a World War II veteran who served his country in the Army Air Force. He worked for Libbey- Owens-Ford Glass Co. for more than 30 years and retired in 1977. Mr. Przybylowski was a 50-year member of the church choir and a 50-year member of VFW Post in Rossford. He was an avid fan of the Detroit Tigers and Notre Dame football, and was a voracious reader. He also enjoyed history, gardening and planning trips. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Helen; daughters, Susan Ulm of Perrysburg, Mary (Dick) Losey of Perrysburg, and Anne (Douglas) Barrientos of Elizabethtown, Kentucky; sons, Daniel (Moira) Przybylowski of Salem, Oregon, and Edward (Caron) Prisby of Jacksonville, Florida; 15 grandchildren; sisters, Angela Adamski and Sofie Witham, both of Rossford; brother, Frank Olszanski, of Sebring, Florida, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Joseph Przybylowski, Ted Prisby, John and Joseph Olszanski and Robert Goinski, and sisters, Sally Wolinski and Josephine Gwozdz. A Scripture Service was held Friday, April 9, at the Sujkowski Funeral Home of Rossford. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Saturday, April 10, at All Saints Catholic Church in Rossford. Gregory C. Leighton, 56 of Perrysburg, died Wednesday, April 7, 2010, at his home. He was born on June 21, 1953, in Boston, Massachusetts, to Neil and Ruth (Chase) Leighton. He was a 1971 graduate of Scarborough High School in Maine, and served six years in the U.S. Air Force. After being honorably discharged, he attended the University of Dayton, where he received his bachelor of science degree. He received a master of science degree from Ohio State University. Mr. Leighton was employed with Reiter Automotive as a quality control technician for many years. He was a member of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Church in Perrysburg. He was born on October 17, 1924, in Rossford, to Michael and Antoinette (Owad) Fedio. “Gunner Fedio” served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a gunner’s mate 3rd class and received many citations and awards for valor under enemy fire. He is survived by his sons, Michael (Theresa) Fedio of Fenton, Michigan, David (Judith) Fedio and Richard Fedio, both of Rossford; grandchildren, Ali (David) Cordone, Luke (Kelly) Fedio, Megan (Eric) Biel, Eric Fedio, Zach and Saire Maccani; great-grandchildren, Alaxander and Alia Cordone and Kierra and Lila Fedio. He was preceded in death by his wife and dance partner, Virginia (Salach) Fedio, on September 28, 2001. A Parastas service was held Friday, April 2, at the Sujkowski Funeral Home of Rossford. Funeral services were held Saturday, April 3, at the funeral home, with the Rev. George Mullonkal officiating. Interment was in Fort Meigs Cemetery in Perrysburg with military honors conducted by Northwood VFW Post 2984. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or to the veterans.


VIRGINIA HEBAN
Virginia “Jenny” Grod Heban entered into everlasting life on Holy Saturday, April 3, 2010. She was born in Rossford, to Anastasia (Zastawny) and George Grod Sr., on Easter Sunday, April 9, 1928. She graduated from Rossford High School in 1946, and from Bowling Green State University in February 1950, with a bachelor’s degree in education. She married Thomas Heban on August 19, 1950. She was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Byzantine Rite, where she enjoyed singing with the choir in Ukrainian. She was proud of her Ukrainian heritage. She is survived by Paul Heban M.D., and his wife Margaret of Gahanna, Ohio, Jean Shireman and her husband Mark of Curtice, Ohio, George Heban of Rossford, and Julie Pangle and her husband Marc of Rossford; grandchildren, Katherine Heban, Thomas Heban, Teresa Pangle, Christine Pangle, Jonathan Pangle, Stephanie Shireman and Monica Shireman; brother, George Grod Jr.; sisters, Anna Wasylyshyn and Irene DeBrock; many nieces and nephews, and Godchildren David Grod, Marina Lubow Wasylyshyn M.D., and Jason Luthy. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas, on June 4, 2004. A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, April 10, at St. Michael Ukrainian Church, 133 Walnut Street, Rossford, with the Rev. Agnes M. Jagos, 91, died Tuesday, March 30, 2010, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. The daughter of Phillip and Mary (Malusek) Valasek, formerly of Vnorovy, Moravia, she was born June 10, 1918, in Toledo. She was married to Joseph Jagos, in Toledo, on November 25, 1939. She was a member of St. Rose Church in Perrysburg. Ms. Jagos is survived by her sister, Bessie Krasula; sister-in-law, Mary Matthews, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph, on February 18, 1980. She also was preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Zak, Helen Klena and Rose Koprowski, and her brother, Frank Valasek. A recitation of the Rosary was held Sunday, April 4, at the Sujkowski Funeral Home of Rossford. Funeral services were held Monday, April 5, beginning at the funeral home, and followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Rose Catholic Church, with the Rev. Charles Singler officiating. JEANETTE KACHMARIK

Jeanette Lorain Kachmarik, 79, of Walbridge, died Tuesday, March 30, 2010, at St. Charles Mercy Hospital. She was born on April 25, 1930, in Toledo, to Jesse and Flora (Kale) Casey. Over the years she enjoyed extensive travel around the world. She also enjoyed shopping and loved watching her grandchildren’s sporting events. She is survived by her sons, Steven (Sherry) Kachmarik and George (Carol) Kachmarik; daughters, Pam (Steve) Agler, DeAnne (Patrick) Racz and Tanya (Mark) Henninger; five grandchildren; seven greatgrandchildren; sisters, Dona Everhardt and Joyce (Bill) Miller, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Kachmarik, in 1995; three great-grandchildren and 10 siblings. Funeral services were held Saturday, April 3, at the Sujkowski Funeral Home of Rossford, with the Rev. Robert Ball officiating. Interment was in Lake Township Cemetery. HOMER ROLLER

Homer J. Roller, 88, of Rossford, died Friday April 2, 2010, at the Lutheran Village at Wolf Creek. He was born in Findlay, on December 21, 1921, to Dewey and Sylvia (Taylor) Roller. He attended Vanlue High School, where he played football, basketball and baseball. He continued his education at Tiffin University, earning a degree in accounting. He then went on to Ohio State University, where he earned a bachelor of arts degree. He entered the Marines in 1942, and served for 22 years, earning the rank of captain. He continued to serve his country in the National Guard for an additional 17 years, retiring in 1981. He enjoyed building things, including three homes, a dune buggy and cars. His memberships included the VFW, Elks and American Legion. Mr. Roller is survived by his daughters, Jacqueline (Paul) Sullivan, Dawn (David) Tullis; sons, Robin Roller and Randall Roller; grandchildren, Seth (Kayli) Roller, K.C. Ball, Brooke and Erica Tullis, Rachel, Ruby and Rosemary Roller and Pavel Sullivan, and great-grandchild, Hayes Roller. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie (Sapienza) Roller in 1997; brother, Earl Roller, and his sister, Pearl Dulgar. Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 7, at 1 p.m., at the Sujkowski Funeral Home of Rossford, with the Rev. Joseph Steinbauer officiating. Interment was in Fort Meigs Cemetery in Perrysburg. JESSIE MATHERS

Jessie Marie Mathers, 66, of Toledo, died Friday, March 26, 2010, at her home. She was born in Lawton, Kentucky on August 1, 1943, to Jesse and Gracie Haywood. She was a homemaker and briefly worked construction. She was a self-trained photographer with a natural talent who had her work published in a local paper and magazine. She also was known for her flower and vegetable gardens, and traveling throughout the United States and Ireland. She cherished spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, since she was a determined child advocate. She was a member and past president of the Women’s Auxiliary AMVets Post 1991 in Defiance, Ohio. Mrs. Mathers is survived by her husband of 23 years, John; children, Cherie (David) Moore, Becky (Mark) Banner, Gene (Ginny) Kadas, Nikki (Chaz) Russell; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; step-children, Sandy, Kathy, Scott, Colleen and Susie, and many step grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Chet Kadas, and her brother, Frank Haywood. Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 31, in the Sujkowski Funeral Home of Rossford, with the Rev. DOLORES MILLER

Dolores C. Miller, 90, of Perrysburg, died Wednesday, March 24, 2010, at the Manor of Perrysburg. She was born in Toledo, on August 18, 1919, to Anthony and Clara (Ciesielski) Okorowski. She and her late husband Daniel were the owners of the former Frost Top Drive In and Tiny Tee Miniature Golf in Perrysburg. Ms. Miller was an avid golfer and enjoyed golfing trips to Florida and North Carolina. She enjoyed spending time with her family. She was especially fond of family trips to Disney World with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church. Ms. Miller is survived by her daughter, Lynn (George) Peterson; grandchildren, Todd (Bridget) Peterson and Kylee (Alex) Davis; great-grandchildren, Avery, Sage, and Nicholas Peterson, Abigail, Kaitlin, and Jacob Davis; brothers, Harold Okorowski, and William (Barbara) Okorowski; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Okorowski, Jean Okorowski, and Marie (Ray) Kay; brother-in-law, Jim Pilcher, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel, in 1988, and siblings, Hilliard Okorowski, Amelia Pilcher, Ray Okorowski, Robert Okorowski and Marilyn Okorowski. Funeral services were held Monday, March 29, at the Sujkowski Funeral Home of Rossford, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Rose Catholic Church. Interment was in Fort Meigs Cemetery. Virginia B. Roach, 86, of Toledo, died Tuesday, March 23, 2010, at her home. She was born on December 3, 1923, in Toledo, to Samuel and Hazel (Bell) Whitmore. She married Bernard Roach and he preceded her in death in 1979. She is survived by her son, James (Barbara) Roach; grandchildren, Diane (Norbert “Skip”) Louy, David (Kristina) Roach, Gary Adams and Tanya (Nate) Fleck, and five great-grandchildren. HELEN CONRAD

Helen Marie Conrad, 85, died Saturday, March 20, 2010, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. She was born on August 18, 1924, in New Burnside, Illinois. She was the oldest of three daughters of Marshall and Cora Van Cleve. She was married to Floyd Conrad for more than 56 years and they had one son, Mark Conrad. Ms. Conrad was a 1942 graduate of Maumee High School, where she was a member of the school’s National Honor Society. After high school, she worked at the Toledo Trust Bank for more than 10 years. After beginning her family, she became a secretary in the Rossford Public Schools. She worked as a secretary in both the junior high and high school for a total of more than 25 years. During her career, she was named the Clerical Employee of the Year for the school district. She was an active member of the Rossford United Methodist Church for more than 50 years. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her family and friends. Ms. Conrad is survived by her son, Mark (Jan Hasemeier) Conrad of Springfield Township; sisters, Hazel Dussel of Maumee, and Doris (Mel) Burwell of Indian River, Florida; many nieces and nephews, and special friends, Pat and Bill Hupp of Perrysburg. She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Conrad, and her brother in-law, James Dussel. Funeral services will be held today, March 25, at the Rossford United Methodist Church, 270 Dixie Highway, Rossford. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Maumee. MARGARET NOWAK

Margaret Jane Nowak, 79, formerly of Rossford died Thursday, March 18, 2010, at the Forest Glen Health Campus in Springfield, Ohio. She was born on January 20, 1931, in Toledo, to Frank and Margaret (Haynes) Cox. She married Arthur Nowak and together they raised four children. She was employed with the Rossford Board of Education, where she was an administrative secretary for many years. She was a member of All Saints Catholic Church in Rossford. She enjoyed rug hooking, quilting, reading, walking and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Ms. Nowak is survived by her children, Mark (Cindy) Nowak, James Nowak, Amy (Jim) Hogan and Thomas (Kelli) Nowak; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandchild, and siblings, Florence Wegner, Nancy Punches, Frank (Barbara) Cox, Louise (Ned) Miklovic and Linda (Thomas) Kreft. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Nowak; grandson, Sgt. David Christoff, and brother, David Cox. Terry Lee Russell, 52, of Holland, Ohio, died Friday, March 19, 2010, at her home. She was born on August 9, 1957, in Toledo, to Howard and Sharon Lanham. She was a graduate of Springfield High School. She married Jeff Russell and together they raised three children. Mrs. Russell was a member of St. Joan of Arc Church in Toledo. She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Jeff Russell; children, Jeremy (Kathleen) Russell, Jill Russell and DJ Russell; four sisters and one brother. MARVIN LECK

Marvin E. “Marv” Leck, 89, of Perrysburg, died March 2, 2010. He was born on February 2, 1921, in Toledo, to Edward and Alma (Becker) Leck. He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. Mr. Leck graduated from Purdue University with a bachelor of arts degree in mechanical engineering. He was employed with Gulf Oil Company for 23 years before going into business for himself as the owner of Graham Equipment. He was a longtime member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Toledo. He is survived by his daughter, Sheri Ellis; grandson, Corey (Lisa) Ellis; great-granddaughters, Cayla and Chloe Ellis; sister, Betty (Russ) Frautschi; sister-in-law, Ruth Leck, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marcella, on July 13, 2009. Funeral services were held Monday, March 8, at the Sujkowski Funeral Home of Rossford, with the Rev. Doug Haryu officiating. Jerry Ulm, 60, of Perrysburg, died Monday, March 1, 2010. at his home. He was born in Galesburg, Illinois, to Elvin and Dorothy (Stockwell) Ulm. He married Susan Przybylowski on March 17, 1972. He worked his entire life in the transportation/ logistics industry. He was currently employed as the global carrier relations leader for Owens Corning and was recently on a team that was awarded the OC Board of Directors Cup, which is the highest honor given at Owens Corning for a cross-functional team which uses company resources to deliver extraordinary results for customers, employees and shareholders. Mr. Ulm was an avid golfer, having played at prestigious courses around the country, including Pebble Beach, Augusta National and Torrey Pines. He was a Knights of Columbus 4th Degree Knight, and a member of St. Rose Catholic Church in Perrysburg. He was the past president of the Rotary Clubs in Galesburg, and Fostoria, Ohio, and the Soangethaha Country Club in Galesburg. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Susan Ulm; brother, Philip (Sylvia) Ulm; nephew, Anthony Ulm; niece, Kerry (David) Ose; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Casimer and Helen Przybylowski; brothers and sisters-in-law, Daniel (Moira) Przybylowski, Mary (Dick) Losey, Edward (Caron) Prisby, Anne (Douglas) Barrientos, and many nieces and nephews. EDWARD KILLIAN

Edward G. “Moose” Killian, 85, of Perrysburg, died Sunday, February 28, 2010, at the Manor of Perrysburg. He was born in Toledo, on June 3, 1924, to Jacob and Josephine (Sisolak) Killian. He was a 1942 graduate of Rossford High School, where he excelled in basketball, football and baseball, and was inducted into RHS Athletic Hall of Fame. After graduation, Mr. Killian served his country in the Marines in the 3rd Marine Division, B Company in Guam and Iwo Jima during World War II. He was awarded two Purple Hearts, and a Silver Star. After being honorably discharged from the Marine Corps, he married Rose Krasula and worked in the automotive industry in quality control. Mr. Killian was a member of All Saints Catholic Church in Rossford, where he enjoyed working the parish festivals, and was a member of the Rossford VFW. He enjoyed the outdoors, golfing, hunting and fishing. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Rose (Krasula) Killian; sister, Josephine Cieply; nieces and nephews, Kevin (Kelli) Cieply, Monica Anders, Gregory (Pam) Pavlica, Barbara (Randy) Lippens, Barbara (James) Hasenfratz, Mary Ann (David) Glowczewski and Gerry Jagos, and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Frances Pavlica, and brothers- in-law, John Cieply and Emil Pavlica. Ann R. Christoff, 73, of Rossford, died February 27, 2010. She was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on February 9, 1937, to Cecil and Ethel (Smiley) Russell. She was a 1955 graduate of Rossford High School and worked many years as a prep chef for the Northwood Villa Restaurant. She was a member of the Rossford Eagles, where she was the past president. WALTER SHALLO

Walter Shallo, 86, of Rossford, died Sunday, February 14, 2010, at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center. He was born in 1923, in Toledo, to Stanley and Anna (Mucha) Shallo. He was a lifelong resident of Rossford, where he graduated in 1942. Shortly after graduation, Mr. Shallo enlisted in the United States Army and served in World War II. He married Rosie Mermer, in Rossford, on September 17, 1949. He worked at Libbey-Owens- Ford for more than 30 years until he retired. He enjoyed taking vacations with his family in Florida when his children were little, reading and listening to old records. Mr. Shallo is survived by his son, David Shallo; daughter, Kathleen (James) Klena; grandchildren, Rose (David) Hadeed, Brandy Klena, Joshua Klena, Jerusha (Joe) Gioiella, Amanda (Nate) Stieg, Hannah (Jason) Miller, Esther (Tim) Clayton, Jared Klena, Micah Klena, and J.J. Klena; nine great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosie; sisters, Francis and Valeria, and brothers, John and Henry. LESTER HESS

Lester L. Hess, 69, of Waterville, died unexpectedly on Friday, February 5, 2010, at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center. He was born on November 11, 1940, to Sidney and Gladys (Modisett) Hess in Perrysburg. He began working at Bahr’s Furniture Store in Toledo at the age of 13. He went on to purchase the store and continued operating it until his death. He was a member of the Southgate Church and the Rossford Eagles. He is survived by his children, Vicki (Mike) Nagy and Douglas (Angela) Hess; grandchildren, Michael (Jennifer) Nagy, Dustin Nagy, Kyle Hess, Dylan Hess and Taylor Hess; stepgrandchildren, Erica (Adam) Houser and Justin Stager; great-grandchildren, McKenzie Hess and Riann Nagy; siblings, Jackie (Bob) Bush, Ada Davis, Tom Hess and Betty (Chuck) Handley; many nieces and nephews, and his “right hand man,” Christopher Simons. Robert E. Hollabaugh, 63, a resident of the Anne Grady Center, died January 28, 2010, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. He was born on April 4, 1946, in Toledo, to Robert and Kathryn (LaVrar) Hollabaugh. He is survived by his sister, Barbara (Lee) Marciniak; brother, Brian (Pat) Hollabaugh, and many nieces and nephews. MARY LAMP

Mary Lamp, 87, of south Toledo, died Wednesday, January 27, 2010, at the Parkcliffe Community. She was born on April 9, 1922, in Rossford, to Anthony and Pauline (Bober) Masnyk. She was a graduate of Rossford High School. She met her husband, John Lamp, at the Rossford Ordnance in 1948. After marrying Mr. Lamp, who made his career in the military, Mrs. Lamp went to work for the Department of Defense as a civilian for many years. She was a former member of St. Michael’s Ukrainian Catholic Church and a St. Joan of Arc Parish member. She enjoyed spending her free time painting and reading. She is survived by her sons, Michael (Eva) Lamp of Kemmerer, Wyoming, and Matthew (Joi) Lamp of Toledo; grandchildren, Adrienne (Brian) Cox and Nicholas, Nathan and Jacob Lamp; nephew, Mark (Jill) Schumacher and their children, John, Andrew and James. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, John, in 2005, and her sister, Eleanor Schumacher. MARIA LOPEZ

Maria L. Lopez, 86, of Toledo, died Saturday, January 30, 2010, at Foundation Park Care Center. She was born on October 4, 1923, in Harlengen, Texas, to Ignacio and Maria Lerma. She is survived by her sons, Benito Lopez Jr. and Javier Lopez; daughter, Erma (Jack) Adams, all of Rossford; three grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sisters, Nevolena Rodriguez and Felicidad Vichareli; brothers, Emilio, Ricardo and Jesus Lerma; brothers-in-law, Thomas Lopez and Raymundo Lopez, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Benito Lopez Sr.; brother, Ignacio Lerma; twin brother, Jose Lerma; sisters, Eva Rita Loza and Aurora Trevino. Visitation was held Tuesday, February 2, at the Sujkowski Funeral Home of Rossford. Burial will be private at the family ranch in Texas.


HATTIE MACIAG
Hattie Maciag, 82, of Rossford, died Friday, January 15, 2010, at her son, Richard’s, residence in Olympia, Washington. She was born on July 10, 1927, in Griesenbach, Germany, to Xavier and Maria (Schlehuber) Neess. She was a janitress for the Rossford Board of Education for many years. Ms. Maciag is survived by her children, Richard (Sally) Maciag, Alfred Maciag and Rita Bonnell; grandchildren, Brent Bonnell, Pamela Reihing and Amanda Harrison; greatgrandchildren, Vickie, Brendan and Jacee Reihing. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley, in 1976. Private funeral services were held Friday, January 22, at All Saints Catholic Church in Rossford, with the Rev. Kent Kaufman officiating. Burial took place at Fort Meigs Cemetery. Arrangements were made by the Sujkowski Funeral Home of Rossford.

CONSTANCE STANFORD

Constance Eileen Stanford, 63, of Toledo, died Wednesday, January 20, 2010. She was born on December 10, 1946. She traveled extensively in her life and even went sky diving when she was 56 years old. She enjoyed cooking and knitting. She met her fiancé, Robert Rovnan, three years ago and enjoyed her social life with him. Ms. Stanford is survived by her children, Tracie Kester-Stanford, Amanda Stanford, Morgan McCoy and Jerry Stanford Jr.; seven grandchildren; one greatgrandchild; mother, Lillian Draves, and brother, Robert Draves Jr. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Draves. Funeral services were held Saturday, January 23, at the Sujkowski Funeral Home of Rossford, with the Rev. Jerry Craig officiating. Interment was private. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.


JOAN KOSCHINSKI
Joan C. Koschinski, 80, of Perrysburg, died Tuesday, January 12, 2010, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. She was born on November 19, 1929, in Rossford, to Constantine and Catherine (Zajac) Nawrocki. She received her nursing degree at Mercy School of Nursing in 1950 and had worked for Dr. John Gallagher, Drs. McAuley, Frazier, Baldoni, Domini and Schneider, and retired from Mercy Family Practice. She was a longtime parishioner of St. Rose Church and was past president of the Altar Rosary Society. Mrs. Koschinski was a playground chairman, started the physical education program at St. Rose, and was a member of the first St. Rose School Board. She was a eucharistic minister and a member of “Helping Hands.” She enjoyed traveling to Michigan and spending time at The Cabin on Bear Mountain in Pennsylvania. Her interests also included journaling, writing and publishing poems, reading, ice skating, gardening, sewing and participating in her “Yogi Club.” Mrs. Koschinski is survived by her husband of 60 years, Alphonse Koschinski; children, Rose Anne (Tom) Wheatley, Jessica (Barry) Brown, and Gene (Linda) Koschinski; granddaughters, Katie (Ryan) McFarland and Alexis Brown; great-grandchildren, McKenzie Kidd and Leah McFarland; brother, Paul (Irene) Nawrocki; sister, Ursula Halleron, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Monica Koschinski. A Recitation of the Rosary was held Thursday, January 14, at the Sujkowski Funeral Home of Rossford. Funeral services were held Friday, January 15, at the funeral home, followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Rose Church. Burial was private in St. Rose Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Rose School Library.

CASMIR MOCHON
Casmir F. Mochon, 92, died Tuesday, January 5, 2010, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. He was born in Rossford on September 27, 1917, to Alexander and Katherine (Panken) Mochon. He served in the U.S. Army serving during World War II. After being honorably discharged from the service, Mr. Mochon went to work for Libbey-Owens-Ford Glass Co., retiring after 40 years of service. He was a member of All Saints Catholic Church and the Holy Cross Council 5139 of the Knights of Columbus. Mr. Mochon is survived by his wife of 64 years, Anna (Misejka) Mochon; sons, Steven (Patricia), David (Lore) and Michael (Colleen) Mochon; daughter, Christine Ireland; grandchildren, Sara (Patrick) Donlon, Aaron (Nichole) Mochon, Jared (Sarah) Ireland and Matthew Mochon, and great-granddaughter, Layla Mochon. A Funeral Mass, officiated by the Rev. Kent Kaufman, was held Friday, January 8, at All Saints Catholic Church, followed by a funeral brunch. Interment was in Fort Meigs Cemetery in Perrysburg. Arrangements were made by the Sujkowski Funeral Home of Rossford. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.


DONALD WALTERS
Donald Amos Walters, 87, of Rossford, died Saturday, January 2, 2010, at the Eleanor Jennings Adult Care Facility in Rossford. He was born on March 22, 1922, in Rossford, to Lewie and Flossy (Michael) Walters. He was a 1941 graduate of Rossford High School. After graduation, he married Margaret Saylor, and together they raised two children. Mr. Walters was employed with Libbey- Owens-Ford Glass Company in the maintenance department until his retirement. He enjoyed gardening with his wife, traveling with his family, tinkering with things, whittling wood and creating fly fishing lures. He was a member of the Rossford United Methodist Church and a former member of the Casting Club and the Holiday Ramblers Travel Trailer Club. Mr. Walters is survived by his daughter, Kathy Fry; grandchildren, Brian Walters, Mary (Corey) Mincey, Tiffany (Larry) Jones, and Sherry Eiseman; greatgrandchildren, Nikita and Brianna Eiseman, Wesley and Riley Mincey and Elijah Jones, and sister, Ruth Kerl. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret, in 1998; son, Ronald Walters, and siblings, Lester and Harvey Walters and Hazel Reynolds. Funeral services were held Wednesday, January 6, at the Sujkowski Funeral Home of Rossford, with the Rev. Robert Ball officiating. Interment was in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
