PATRICIA PURNIA

Patricia A. Purnia, 75, of the Point/Shoreland community, died Friday, January 20, 2012, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio Toledo Center. She was born June 26, 1936, to Jim and Clara (Nowak) Toda.
She belonged to the Harry E. Pond American Legion Post 99. She enjoyed going to casinos.
Ms. Purnia is survived by her children, Pamela (Jim) Nalodka, Laura (Howard) Davis, Keith Purnia, Judy (Butch) Hugill, Greg Purnia, Kevin (Janet) Purnia, and Clara (Scott) Nowak; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Delphine Purnia; sisters-in-law, Donna Baumgartner and Millie Toda, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; brothers, Edward, Bob, Richard and Donald Toda, and sister, Betty Manning.
Funeral services were held Thursday, January 26, in the David R. Jasin-Hoening Funeral Home, with Father Anthony Borgia officiating. Interment was in Restlawn Memorial Park.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.


ROBERT RAMER

Robert W. Ramer, 90, formerly of Point Place, died Tuesday, January 24, 2012, in Findlay, Ohio. He was born in Toledo, on October 21, 1921, to George and Nellie (Batchelor) Ramer.
Mr. Ramer served in the United States Army during World War II. He enlisted with the Army two years after he graduated from Woodward High School in 1940. As a result of obtaining his diploma, the Army promoted him to Sergeant.
He enjoyed traveling, gardening and spending time outdoors watching and feeding the birds, tinkering with his automobiles, and being active in the lives of his grandsons.
He is survived by his daughter, Marcia (Roy) Armes; son-in-law, Bruce Hahn; grandsons, Justin and Nicholas Armes; brother, Kenny (Pat) Ramer, and sister, Shirley Laux. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia, in 2010; daughter, Lisa Hahn, and brothers, George and Jack Ramer.
Prayers began Saturday, January 28, in the David R. Jasin-Hoening Funeral Home, followed by a Funeral Mass at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, with Father Anthony Borgia officiating. Interment was in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
