MILDRED PATTON
Mildred Lucille (Baumhower) Patton, 93, formerly of Holland, died Sunday, February 28, 2010, at Spring Meadows Care Center. She was born in Monclova, on April 3, 1916, to John and Adeline (Bruce) Baumhower. She was a homemaker who enjoyed crocheting, card playing, gardening and spending time with her family. She is survived by her son, John (Juanita) Patton; daughter, Sharon (Robert) Beach; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford; daughter, Beverly Barnes; brothers, John, Glen and Norm, and sister, Helen. Funeral services were held Thursday, March 4, at the Maison-Dardenne- Walker Funeral Home, Maumee. Interment was in Roth Memorial Cemetery, Monclova. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, 30000 East River Road, Perrysburg, Ohio 43551 or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
PAUL PHIPPS
Paul Phipps, 73, of Holland, died Tuesday, March 2, 2010, at his home. He was born in Beckley, West Virginia, on December 30, 1936, to Everett and Sadie Phipps. He married Donna Jean Carter on September 22, 1956. Mr. Phipps was one of the owners of Able Equipment for more than 40 years. He came from West Virginia to work for Nickels Bakery. He was a local member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, State of Ohio for more than 40 years. He enjoyed boating and was a member of Cooley Canal Yacht Club for more than 30 years. In his younger years, he enjoyed motorcycling, and was a charter member of the Dux Motorcycle Club in Bedford and Blackhawks. He is survived by children, Candy (Ed/Lee) Browne, Cathy (Mike) Kolodziejski, Cindy (Larry) Hurst, Paul (Ellen) Steinmiller; grandchildren, Corey Browne, Courtney (Jamie) Goda, Autumn (Mike) Scott, Mikey Kolodziejski, Jennifer (Mike) DiRosa, Amanda Hurst, Amanda Steinmiller, Paul Steinmiller, Jr.; greatgrandchildren, Elloise Kolodziejski, Wyatt Scott, Gretchen Scott, Bryson Goda; brothers, Oneal Phipps, Delmar (Maryann) Phipps; special family members, Betty Burgess and Paul Dickens; brothersin- law, Danny (Bobbi) Carter, Larry Carter; sisters- in-law, Ruthie (Gene) Creecy and Faye (Eddie) McCoppins, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years. The Cooley Canal Yacht Club held services on Friday, March 5, at the Neville Funeral Home, Holland. Funeral services were held Saturday, March 6, at the funeral home, with the Rev. George Goodrich officiating. Burial was in Highland Memory Gardens, Waterville.
