ROBERT BIGLOW
Robert L. Biglow, 77, of Holland, died Sunday, March 7, 2010, at Flower Hospital, Sylvania. He was born in Holland on May 7, 1932, to Lawrence and Maeola (Fisher) Biglow. He married Delores Gadberry, in Sylvania, on October 20, 1951, and she preceded him in death on May 9, 1999. He then married Phyllis in 2001. A 1950 graduate of Holland High School, he worked as a Tool and Die Maker for Doehler Jarvis. Mr. Biglow is survived by his wife, Phyllis; children, Kathy (Carl) Wenzlick, Eric Biglow; grandchildren, Lance (Olivia) Barnhiser, Brad Wenzlick, Amanda (Cliff) Brown, Eric Biglow II, Isaiah Biglow; great-grandchildren, Tyler and Quinn Barnhiser. He also was preceded in death by his son, Jeff. Funeral services were held Saturday, March 13, at the Neville Funeral Home, Holland. Burial was in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.


DORIS CRAY
Doris B. Cray, 89, of Holland, died Sunday, March 7, 2010, in Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center. She was born in Oregon, Ohio, on September 6, 1920, to Joseph and Helen (Romstadt) Haas. She graduated from Central Catholic High School and became a registered nurse after completing the St. Vincent’s nursing program. She served as a Naval Nurse during World War II. Ms. Cray retired from St. Vincent Medical Center after more than 30 years as an R.N. working in the premature nursery. She was a member of St. Ignatius and Our Lady of Lourdes Churches and she enjoyed sewing, quilting, needlepoint and collecting Hummel figurines. She is survived by her children, Patricia (James) Brimacombe, Thomas (Sue), Charles (Maureen), John and Mark (Luann) Cray; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Joanne (John) Mermer and Marie Brannan, and sisterin- law, Gloria Haas. She was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Charles, in 1984. She also was preceded in death by her identical twin sister, Jean Dominique; sister, Bernadine Semanson, and brother, William Haas. A recitation of the Rosary was held Wednesday, March 10, in the Coyle Funeral Home, Toledo. Funeral services began in the mortuary on Thursday, March 11, followed by a Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Interment was in St. Ignatius Cemetery, Oregon. Memorials may take the form of contributions to the Palliative Care Unit at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, Hospice of Northwest Ohio or St. John’s Jesuit High School.


ALICE KACZALA
Alice “Boobie” Kaczala, 82, of Holland, died Sunday, March 7, 2010, at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was born in Toledo, on June 25, 1927, to Joseph and Stella (Less) Zywocki. She married James Kaczala, in Toledo, on November 25, 1968. She had worked for more than 40 years at Bingham Manufacturing. Mrs. Kaczala is survived by her husband, James; daughter, Caroll (Tom Sr.) Anderson; daughter-in-law, Marsha Sherick; grandchildren, Tammy, Tommy, John Dean, Russell Jay, Don and April; 14 great-grandchildren and two great-greatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, John Sherick; brothers, Stanley and Ed, and sister, Marie. Visitation and services will be private with burial taking place at Resurrection Cemetery. Arrangements are being made by the Neville Funeral Home, Holland.


DALE STILSON
Dale R. Stilson, 99, of Holland, died Sunday, March 7, 2010, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. A former Williamsburg area resident, he moved to Traverse City in 1979, then to Holland, in 1983. He received a bachelor of arts degree and a master of arts degree from Central Michigan University. He taught in the Grand Traverse area schools for many years, retiring from the Elk Rapids Schools in 1972 after teaching for 36 years. He was born in Clinton County, Michigan, on October 28, 1910, to Roy and Nellie (Briggs) Stilson. He married Ila Cox in 1936. Mr. Stilson is survived by his stepson, Robert Cox; four stepgrandchildren; eight stepgreat-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; nephews, James Stilson of Elk Rapids and Mitchel Stilson of Chula Vista, California, and niece, Nancy Stilson of Traverse City. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1990; brother, Edwin Stilson, and niece, Darlene Hulbert. Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 10, at Neville Funeral Home, Holland, with the Rev. Jamie Gill officiating. Burial was held Thursday, March 11, in Oakwood Cemetery, Traverse City, Michigan. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or Emmanuel United Methodist Church.
